Address: Laxvägen 9, 29132 Gislöv
By the veteran boat jetty in Gislöv, about 10 wooden fishing boats are on display during the sailing season. Both the jetty and the boats are under the care of Sirmiones skeppslag, which restores old wooden boats. Some of the boats have been gifted to the association while others have been restored or reconstructed by its members.
The association's first boat was called Sirmione, named after the resort by Lake Garda. It came to Gislöv in 2004 and was in great disrepair. The person who sold the boat said he had won it in a poker game, and then found out it was sitting at the bottom of Råå harbour. The association spent 1500 hours renovating Sirmione and now she's moored along with the other wooden boats by the veteran boat jetty.
The Sirmione skeppslag also runs the Coastal fishing museum where the visitor can learn about fishing as an occupation in the olden days. Not everything was better in the "Good old days", fishing was hard work that required the whole family so step in and roll up their sleeves.
During winter, the boats are stored in the nearby shipyard for maintenance.
