One of Trelleborg's preserved windmills.
A couple hundred years ago almost every village had its own windmill. Today, few of these remain.
The windmill in Norra Grönby took a year to build, 1889-1890. The base was built by bricklayer Lind. Six or seven carpenters then built the windmill itself under the supervision of windmill builder Lars Larsson of Anderslöv. Most of the mill is made of oak from Slätteröd forest. The stones were bought from the Mill stone factory in Malmö.
