Äspöholm beach moors offer a moment of peace and quiet due to the Littorina mound that sits between the moors and the road. Your main reasons to visit the moors are the rare meadow anemone and many species of insects.
The Littorina mound is a remnant of an at least 6000 year old border to the ocean. It can be seen in a few places along the south coast and is called Järavallen locally.
The shoreline along the moors is sometimes interrupted by leaning poles. These were previously used by the fishermen to fasten eel nets.
The moors are home to the rare meadow anemone and the small pasque flower as well as over 210 species of insects, mainly butterflies and bees.
