Visit the Viking fortress and experience what it was like to live during the Viking era.
Trelleborgen is part of a Viking Age fortress complex, which has been reconstructed. Vikingmuseum with souvenir shop, café and guided tours during the summer.
At the city's highest point in 1988, the remains of a ring fortress from the Viking era was found, a so-called trelleborg. With the discovery of the fortress, the city's name also got its explanation. The Viking fortress, as it looks today is a reconstruction that was completed in 1995. A quarter of the fortress is built on its place of origin and is located in the middle of the city, it also houses a reconstructed medieval house - also found on the site. Outside the fortress is a Viking farm with long houses, pit houses and farms.
The museum shop has a extensive assortment of copies of finds, souvenirs, toys, books, craft materials, etc. There is also a café with freshly brewed coffee, delicious cakes and ice cream. You can choose between sitting indoors in a cozy environment or enjoying the sun on the outdoor terrace overlooking the Viking fortress.
Various events for both children and adults are also arranged during the summer to demonstrate how it must have been to live here in the Viking Age.
