Maglarps sandtag is a beautiful little nature reserve in an old closed down sand pit.
The unique environment in the sand pit makes it a home to several rare species of bees and the sand martin. Each spring and early summer the pits are lively and busy as the martins nest.
In the pits 44 different species of solitary bees have been observed, some of which are very rare.
Due to the vulnerability of these species, it is very important to be careful in Maglarps sandtag and proceed calmly and with caution in and around the area.
